Argh! I've enrolled in two classes this semester, and I'm wondering how am I going to manage my time to meet the demands of my work schedule, INC schedule, school schedule, and, now, volunteer schedule. I'm trying to follow my dad's mantra of working "smarter, not harder" by having my work and volunteer activities serve as projects plans for my class projects. That's a smart thing, right?
One project is a called a Safari. Each student is to "hunt" for a academic book and do a book review on a particular subject. This semester it's Leadership. Problem is, the bookshelves have rows and rows of interesting viewpoints on leadership that I just can't decide! Any suggestions? My preference is to find a holistic, systemic view on leadership, but at this point, I'll settle for a cool read. Thus far, I've skimmed through "Leading the Soul." My quick assessment and review: It starts off as a romance novel, and a poor one at that because it has none of the sexual tension you expect from a good romance novel. If I had the interest, I'd try to find out why the author considered this approach a good one. The book needs to be chucked. Not that I'm a bookburning advocate, but the book was so bad it deserves to be used as kindling.
Argh! I need to end this entry and get back to the stack of books.
